Blog Marketing Checklist
- Have you created a marketing plan or outline
- Do all your forms of advertising present a level professionalism
- Are you advertising in trade publications
- Have you created any branded items to give away
- Have you solicited any reviews of your blog, products, and services
- Are you using an opt-in email campaign with Aweber
- Have you created any partnerships or strategic relationships
- Are you drawing attention to your blog by running a contest
- Does your homepage effectively direct your visitors to what they are looking for
- Do you have a clear and easy to understand privacy policy link
- Are you treating your blogging as a business
- Are your visitors passing on your content to others that are interested in the same topic
- Are you asking your visitors to recommend your blog to others
- Is your blog placed on the front page of search engine results
- Are you using PPC (Pay Per Click)
- Are your ads placed strategically on your blog
- Have you put your URL on business cards, letterheads, and brochures
- Are you staying in touch with your visitors
- Have you considered a video version of your blog
- What is your core marketing message
- Do you know what your competition is using
- Have you checked your stats with Google Analytics
- Does Google have a copy of your sitemap
- Have you joined Google Groups
- Do your visitors want your information because they think they need it
- Does your blog come across as trustworthy
- Are the products or services you offer free or at least affordable
Some items on the checklist are common sense, but you would be surprised at how many simple things are overlooked because we focus on the complex stuff too much.
