Time Management For Bloggers

Time Management For BloggersThere never seems to be enough time to do the things we want to do as opposed to the things we have to do. Time management is going to play a very important part when it comes to the success of your blog. Keep in mind that just because you blog from home, it still needs to be treated like going to work – just work that you enjoy. At some point your blogging might even become a full time job and the only reason you leave the house is to go on vacations that are paid for by your profits. Hmm maybe that’s what you put down as one of goals earlier.

A Formula For Successful Time Management

Whether you plan to work 2 or 10 hours a day, set up a schedule and stick to it. The best thing to do is divide each of your tasks into the time you have allotted. Now take each of those tasks and prioritize them. As you work on each item, be aware that once you have used up the specified time, it is time to move on to the next. There are many resources available on the internet to help keep you on track, but you might just need something as simple as a cooking timer with a bell to alert you when it’s time to stop.

Don’t Be Overly Social

One of the biggest distractions today are the social media sites. These things are so easy to become addicted to that you lose all track of how long you are browsing. Remember, your goal is to market your blog with your socializing efforts, not talk about how good your cookies are – unless that is your topic of course.

One area you can utilize time management in is how you go about writing articles for directories to help promote your blog. If you take articles that you have already written and rework them to avoid the duplicate content penalties, it becomes a win win situation. When I say rework them, I don’t  mean put them through a spinner. Those things output garbage that can be seen a mile away.

Lastly, make sure you set aside time for your family. All blogging and no play can make for a very uneventful life!
